I feel like I healed a part of my wounded inner child tonight. I have been bullied by my older sister my whole life and have been no contact for years. I usually don't think about her and generally keep a bitter attitude about her and assume this "I don't need her if she chooses to act this way" mentality which has been serving me mostly well for this time. Until tonight. I guess I watched one too many 'my sister is my best friend' videos. At first I was jealous. And then immediately started crying. But this was another kind of crying. The kind of crying you do when your heart is breaking. When your heart is screaming. It was shocking for me. Like a whole tsunami of thoughts and feelings that overwhelmed me completely.

So I just journalled out everything. Uncensored. Raw. That I was angry. That I had been betrayed. That I missed out because she was and still was a bitch. That I was hurt that I didn't get what everyone else seems to get. That I never had her appreciation or care or love. Through writing, I realised there was a part of me that really craved those things from her. And that part of me was wounded. That like, inner child was crying out for that. Crying out for her. So I did what my therapist and I do, and I validated and normalised those feelings given what needs were not being met. And then ended up writing to my wounded inner child that I'm sorry that she was made to feel unworthy and unwanted and neglected. How that wasn't supposed to happen. How she deserved love. She deserved care. And she deserved to feel worthy. Then wrote how I would do that for her. I would fight tooth and nail to do that for her. Because she deserves that. And bro. It's like I healed that part of me just by doing that. Highly recommend.

Format ideas: 1. How you're feeling about this person and what they've done 2. What you've been made to feel because of their actions 3. Identify what part of you was wounded and what they needed then. 4. Validate and normalise those feelings and thoughts. 5. Put thoughts and feelings into context (aka inner child you deserved to feel worthy and deserved care) 6. Empathise with inner self (I'm sorry you were made to feel _. You deserve to feel _) 7. Declare to give yourself the unconditional support your inner child craves for and deserves.

I really hope this helps someone heal. Even just a little bit. Or even feel better for a second . I'm proud of you for making efforts to care for yourself the way you deserve Xx
