ways to practice self-acceptance?

i usually don’t like to ask for help or advice in this community because it’s uncomfortable being vulnerable with people, but i genuinely need advice on how to accept myself for where and who i am in life right now.

i’ve always struggled with low self-esteem, insecurity, and all of that. i’ve tried to work on self-love for the longest, but it has always been uncomfortable for me to say good things about myself, enjoy being around myself, and be encouraging. like i would try to say things to myself like “i am beautiful”, “i am smart”, “i’m such a cool person”, “i am amazing” and stuff like that; i would even try to smile at myself in the mirror like i actually adore myself or something. that stuff feels forced to me. it is like i’m trying to force myself to love or like someone i don’t even want a connection with in the first place.

i figured maybe it would be easier to try to practice self-acceptance instead since i don’t have to do any of that “omg i admire myself and who i am so much” type stuff. at this point, i just want to be peace at myself and my life circumstances. i just want to be okay with everything for once.

you don’t have to help me or give me advice if you don’t want to, but i would appreciate it?
