Fighting off the thought "yea, but nobody cares!"
https://ift.tt/MrvyRkdI've read so much about self love and I have been in therapy for embarrassingly long. It doesn't feel like I have gained a lot of selflove in this while. And I know it's important, but I've always battled with this aspect.
Whenever I try to tell myself how nice I am at observing things, how my tastes in music, how I'm good at photography, innovative and creative with my solutions and how my interests are insights are so deep and meaningful, a thought brings all to a catastrophic crash.
The thought of "yeah, all is good, but no one else cares! If it were really so good, someone would have come along to be with you wanting a piece of it." And the thing is, that I can't get around to just reply "it brings me happiness", because there is an element of truth there.
I like those aspects of me much more if someone sees it and appreciates me for it. I am not saying that I'm seeking attention, but I do want to be noticed and in a very strange way, I see worth and meaning in my being through that. I don't find meaning when I do it for myself. I've seen one of the most beautiful places in the world for myself, but I ended up going back to the hostel and cried, coz there wasn't anyone whom I could share it with. I posted a LOT more on insta just for some people to notice it. I just NEED to do it for someone else. And when that happens, I feel like I've made it.
How can I fight off this tendency and how can I start valuing myself for who I am? How do I love myself?
