21F. I used to be someone full of so much excitement, interests I loved engaging in, and even though my confidence wasn't exactly the best I still felt good about myself at most times. However about half a year ago I went through a breakup and went completely no contact. It was a very toxic relationship, I was extremely dependent on this person and entirely based my self worth off of them.

My life has changed a lot since then, I've got a new job and know new people, I've been half a year clean of addictions I developed during my relationship, and I can say I no longer miss my ex. However the truth is I feel like I've completely lost myself since then, and I am making absolutely no progress.

I've lost interest in all my hobbies and things I previously adored. Talking to people feels like a drag even though I used to be very social. I can't even say I feel sad, just completely empty and like a husk of myself. Everyday I feel like I'm just pretending to be the person I still used to be before my breakup. I look to other people for approval for everything I say and do, and if I don't get it I start to self isolate out of fear that I'm not good enough, or the "me" people expect me to be, if that makes any sense. I even feel afraid posting this in case I get any negative responses. I hate the way I am now. I really just want to feel happy and confident again, but I don't know how. What can I do to rediscover myself? I just feel so stuck and lost.
