How do I stop letting other people affect my how I feel about myself?
https://ift.tt/JkQsKf8It’s embarrassing to be nearly 30 and still have external factors affect me so deeply. I deal with a lot of self esteem issues and how i feel is heavily reliant on how others speak to me or act towards me. Doesn’t help that I have social anxiety so I’m extra critical of myself.
I also notice that I let negative things affect me way more and far deeper than positive things. When people tell me im pretty/ beautiful I almost don’t actually believe it. The minute I’m out with friends and guys approach them but don’t at least acknowledge my existence (which happens more than I’d like, ever since I was old enough to go out) I feel extremely crappy about myself and any positive feelings i felt about myself (i.e i look great today) are completely destroyed.
How do you break free from the shackles of letting other people affect the way you view yourself? I’m tired of it and it’s made me such a broken person to not stand comfortably in my own skin and body.
