https://ift.tt/3UsZVRgi love my partner more than i can even explain. he's taught me so much about myself and helped me find healing and growth in a lot of ways i never thought i was capable of, and a lot of ways i didn't even know i needed. he grapples pretty severely with mental health issues, but recently it's been worse than i've ever experienced with him (granted he's been struggling his whole life and we've been dating for a bit over a year, so i know my scope isn't the largest). when he's like this, he's not capable of being totally present for me, which is understandable and fine. but he does tend to get very impatient, annoyed, rude, super critical of me, and generally unpleasant to be around when he's struggling, and it's hard for me to not take these things personally. i also have very bad anxiety. so i'm already hyper susceptible to reading into those qualities and getting nervous about it. i miss the way things were before he fell into this rut, i want to believe he can get back to that version of himself, and i want to see him through this. but with all that in mind, i also need to put myself first and keep my own self fulfilled when the relationship just isn't able to do that right now.
other than rare weekends or bursts of energy when he's feeling okay, it feels like i haven't REALLY seen my partner in months. please any advice or support would be lovely.
