In short my ex girlfriend of 7 years was my school sweetheart as well as after cheated on me with 7 other people and possibly more. Got pregnant, made me think the child was mine, and manipulated me. Granted I was not upset as I felt very out of touch in that relationship and it was as if we were really friends that were just intimate with each other. We broke off in the beginning of 2021 after dna results were issued. Again I was way more upset at the fact that I made my parents believe they were grandparents. I asked her why she did what she did and she couldn’t give me a solid reason why other than “idk”. It ate me up for quite some time because I very much believed it was my fault. Fast forward a few months later I met the woman of my dreams. We talked and started dating but didn’t officially say we were dating till about June. At this point my feelings were getting stronger and I was scared of it. Fast forward once more to February of 2022 where we both confessed our love to each other after I admitted to a screw up which was me having inappropriate conversations with another woman. I was not caught, I simply confessed because I respected her and realized I messed up.(this made me realize that I did not want to lose her and that I truly cared for what I had). After that it was like a switch went off and I became anxious of losing her. To current date, march of 2023 I talk to her about my anxiety’s and troubles. I make up fake scenarios and catastrophize in my head and she’s trying to help me through it but she doesn’t know what to do or how to make me feel any better it all boils down to me having to be secure with myself. Granted, she says I have nothing to worry about and that she’s happy, but I can’t but doubt, that I may just not be enough. We’ve worked past that little bump in the road and I’m happier than ever but at the same time, I anxiety is affecting my sleep, and I would like to fix it before it affects my relationship as well. What are some tips and tricks to help you feel secure with yourself And trick yourself in the thinking not every person isnt out to get you?
